Using an entire disk as part of a bootable pool is strongly discouraged, as this may render the pool unbootable. Likewise, you should not use an entire disk as part of a mirror or <acronym>RAID-Z</acronym> vdev. These are because it its impossible to reliably determine the size of an unpartitioned disk at boot time and because there's no place to put in boot code.
Other archiving activities might include copying trail files to a centralized server, deleting old trail files, or reducing the audit trail to remove unneeded records. This script will be run only when audit trail files are cleanly terminated, so. It will not be run on trails left unterminated following an improper shutdown.
Use <filename>kernel.GENERICthe qualified <filename>/boot/GENERIC/kernel</filename> to refer to the default kernel that comes with an installation, or <filename>/boot/kernel.old/kernel</filename>, to refer to the previously installed kernel before a system upgrade or before configuring a custom kernel.
